Tinkerfest
TinkerFest is a structured funneling program designed to Scout, Skill-Up, Build, and Showcase student innovations. TinkerFest provides a pathway for ideas to become a showcase-ready project or functional prototype. It is powered by the network of Centre for Early Innovation (CEI) labs across Kerala, a flagship initiative by Samagra Shiksha Kerala (SSK) executed by Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) under STARS Scheme; along with Streamlabs ecosystem.
Center for Early Innovation
The Centre for Early Innovation (CEI) is a Kerala-model of state-of-the-art Tinkering Labs in Government schools to democratize STEM education. The CEIs serve as dynamic learning hubs, enabling students to explore science and technology in a playful and engaging way, and also ensures equity and inclusiveness in Education.

Timeline
JANUARY 2026
Idea Scouting
Identifying potential innovators and creative minds across schools through interactive workshops and awareness sessions.
FEBRUARY 2026
Idea Submission
Students submit their innovative ideas and potential projects for review by a panel of experts.
FEBRUARY-MARCH 2026
Idea Refinements
Selected ideas undergo mentorship and refinement sessions to prepare specifically for the prototyping phase.
MARCH-APRIL 2026
School-Level Showcase
Students showcase their developed prototypes within their schools, competing for a chance to represent their institution.
LATE APRIL 2026
District Selection
The top teams from schools across the district compete in a rigorous selection process for the final round.
MAY 2026
District Bootcamp
An intensive bootcamp for the finalists to polish their projects, learn new skills, and prepare for the grand finale.
JUNE - JULY 2026
State Level Showcase at Cochin
One selected team from each district gets to showcase their project at the State Level Showcase in Cochin.
